Beaver Scouts Aquarium Sleepover
Once again, Beavers in West Devon District had the opportunity to sleep with sharks at Plymouth National Marine Aquarium in October. This year over 50 Beavers along with around 20 Scout volunteer leaders were treated to a guided tour of the aquarium. During the evening, where they learnt all about marine life around the UK and the world. From the Great Barrier Reef environment to the ecosystem of Plymouth Sound. We heard some fun facts about the ‘gross’ behaviour of some creatures of the oceans. We had fun learning which creature has three hearts, which creature has five eyes and which creature doesn’t ‘age’ as we do. Then we learnt fun facts about sharks, before we settled into our sleeping bags within sight of the enormous fish tank. We are grateful for all the adult volunteers who make these events possible, if you or anyone you know is interested in helping out please contact your local group. West Devon district includes groups in Walkham Valley, Whitchurch, Tavistock, Horrabridge & Buckland, Bridestowe, Lifton and Bere Alston.
