The Squirrel Drey
Our Squirrel Scout Drey has members aged between 4 and 6 years old. We meet together as a Drey and learn through playing games, telling stories and singing songs. Squirrels are the latest addition to the Scouting family and 1st Lifton Scout Group was the first group in West Devon to start a Squirrel Drey (in November 2022).
A team of adults run the Squirrel Scout Drey and the Squirrels get to take part in a wide range of activities through an exciting programme provided by the leadership team. In addition to the adult leaders, the leadership team also includes at least one young leader (aged 14-18 years old).
Squirrel Scouts can work towards:
- 12 Activity Badges
- four Challenge Awards
- a Top Award
- a Membership Award
- a Joining In Award
- a Moving On Award
All of the activities, awards and badges are specially designed to be age-appropriate and engaging.
Squirrel Scout meetings are for just one hour and we keep the number of Squirrels limited to ensure we have sufficient support for each child.
1st Lifton Squirrel Scouts meets on a Monday afternoon from 4.30-5.30pm at Lifton Community Centre.
