New Scout Store Arrives

After several years of fundraising and applications for grant funding, the Scout group raised over £16,000 to enable a replacement container to be installed at Roadford Lake Activity Centre. The new store gives extra capacity for storing camping equipment such as tents, marquees, tables, chairs and archery equipment. a real example of team work, the new store required negotiating with contractors to arrange the removal of the old store, then working parties gathered to clear the space in readiness for the new store. On the day of arrival, the new store arrived and was lifted carefully into place. The store is a reconditioned unit and has been painted in blue, a perfect colour for Sea Scouts. The next stage of the operation is to install new shelving units and to transfer the camping equipment across to the new store. With the final stage being to arrange for the removal of the old store.
