Annual General Meeting – 13th May 2024

Date: 21st Apr 2024 Author: Robert Weston

Our Annual General Meeting was held on Monday 13th May 2024. Due to the rain, the AGM took place at the Tamar Room at The Arundell at 6.30pm.

The Chair of 1st Lifton Scout Group Trustees, Peter Morris welcomed everyone to the meeting including our West Devon District guests. Peter explained that the AGM format was a little different this year, following changes being rolled out by the Scout Association. The report from the Group Scout Leader demonstrated that a great, age-appropriate programme is available for everyone and the group has continued to grow. Since the last AGM we have launched a second Cub Pack. This means we have been able to reduce our waiting lists, for all sections except the Squirrel Scouts which is still over subscribed.

Parents at the meeting thanked all the leaders, helpers and trustees for all they contribute to the running of the Scout Group which ensures that so many young people enjoy a wide range of experiences.

Presentations from the District Commissioner, Ben de Carteret, were made to: Ellis on completion of his Gold Chief Scout’s Award; Imogen for her five years of service to Scouting, Mel for her 10 years of service, Rob G for his 15 years of service; Anna received her leader’s Wood Badge.
