Beavers Sleep with the Sharks

Date: 17th Oct 2022 Author: Robert Weston

Eighteen of our Beaver Scouts enjoyed the West Devon District sleepover at Plymouth Aquarium this October. The Beavers were treated to a guided tour of the aquarium during the evening, where they learnt about the Great Barrier Reef environment, the ecosystem of Plymouth Sound and some fun facts about some ‘gross’ behaviour of some creatures of the oceans. The staff from the aquarium were very knowledgeable and very entertaining. We learnt lots of fun facts about sharks, before we settled into our sleeping bags within sight of the enormous fish tank. Well done to all the Beavers from across the District, all were very well behaved and a real credit to the Scout movement. This is an annual event, so there will be another opportunity for our Beavers to sleep with the sharks next year!
