Carols at Lifton Church 2025
1st Lifton Scout Group were delighted to have a great attendance at their annual Christmas Carol service on Monday 8th December at St Mary’s Church (the parish church of Lifton). The service was led by Revd Phillip Conway, who reminded us of the Christmas story and led us in our Christmas carols.
The church was full of excited Squirrel Scouts, Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts and Young Leaders joining together in song – plus parents, carers, grandparents, supporters and leaders. In total we are a Scout Group with around 110 young people and 25 adult leaders.
During the carol service, five cubs were awarded their Chief Scout’s Silver Award. At the end of the service, we thanked all the leaders and trustees who give their time and energy to enable young people to learn new skills and grow as individuals. Each and every adult volunteer brings a wealth of experience. Long service awards were presented to several of our leaders and two of our trustees.
After the carols, delicious freshly baked mince pies were quickly consumed! Thanks to all who came… next year we might need to get even more chairs ready.
