Squirrel Scouts Celebrate First Anniversary

On Monday 6th November 2023, our Squirrel Drey celebrated their first anniversary in style. The hall was decorated with coloured streamers and balloons, they played party games and there was party food to complete the evening. We were joined by Ben de Carteret, West Devon’s District Commissioner and Abi de Carteret, Assistant District Commissioner (Explorers). Ben thanked the pioneering leaders, Natasha, Caroline and Rachel for their commitment over the past twelve months. ‘Setting up a new Scout section is a challenge, setting up the first Squirrel Scout section in West Devon was an even greater challenge. But you have developed a really engaging programme and it’s so clear how much the Squirrels enjoy being here,’ observed Ben. Group Scout leader, Rob, thanked the Squirrels and their leaders for a great first anniversary party. ‘It’s really encouraging to see how our Squirrel Drey is developing and I look forward to seeing it continue to grow and serve our local community.’
