Search is on for new Chair of Trustees

Date: 25th Feb 2024 Author: Robert Weston

After ten years of dedicated support of 1st Lifton Scout Group, Peter Morris is stepping down from the role of Chair of Trustees. Peter has played a pivotal role in overseeing the expansion of the Scout Group, particularly over the past five years. He has helped secure additional grant funding so that we could invest in leader training, improve our sailing dinghy resources and replace a storage shed at Roadford Lake. Peter will be maintaining his support of the group as one of our RYA (Royal Yacht Association) qualified dinghy instructors.

So the search is on for a replacement! Our Group Scout Leader would like to hear from anyone who is interested in taking on this challenge. ‘We are looking for someone who supports the principles of Scouting. Namely, supporting young people in developing skills for life, whilst having fun, trying new experiences and adventures. Anyone with experience of working with other people in a voluntary or paid capacity would bring important skills to this role. The Scout Association has opportunities for training and whoever is appointed will receive the support of our well established Scout Group.’

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
